Dante Wesley Hit Video - Should He Be Suspended? (Video)

Check out the Dante Wesley hit video from yesterday's Carolina Panthers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers game and see if you think this deserves a suspension. I definitely think a two to three game suspension is deserved just due to the type of hit and the situation.

The type of hit? Well, Wesley launches himself headfirst, feet off the ground directly at the head of punt returner Clifton Smith. The situation? A punt returner, waiting defenseless with his eyes to the sky, awaiting the falling football. In addition, take a look at how far away the ball is from actually being caught. It's not a bang, bang play where the football arrives in the arms of Smith and there is Wesley with the hit. The football hit the ground a good second after the hit and was nowhere close to being caught.

Looking at it in slow motion only makes it look worse. Go to the 1:12 mark of the video if you want to see a few slow motion replays of the hit. Clifton Smith missed the rest of the game but will be okay. He was diagnosed with a concussion. Dante Wesley will now await the impending fine and possible suspension once the NFL reviews this hit.

What do you think? Does Wesley deserve a suspension? If so, how many games should he get?
