Yankees Win World Series!

Andy Pettitte pitched effectively with three days rest and Hideki Matsui was the hitting star as the New York Yankees defeat the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 Wednesday night to win the 2009 World Series four games to two.

Pettitte gets the win by pitching into the sixth inning, allowing three runs. Matsui was the big bat driving in six of the seven runs the Yanks scored in the game. New York wins its 27th World Series title but its first since the 2000 season.

Matsui was also named the World Series MVP while Pettitte won a clinching game of a postseason series for the sixth time.

The Yankees chased starter and loser Pedro Martinez early as they took a 2-0 lead they would never relinquish. The Yankees finished off Martinez and built a 7-1 lead before Ryan Howard hit a two run homer off Pettitte but the New York bullpen saved the day for the winners.

untitled1Nov. 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Nautica NYC Triathlon, consisting of a 1500m swim, a 40k bike race and a 10k run, is scheduled to be held on the July 18th of 2010. The triathlon is held every year, where around 3000 athletes have to swim the Hudson river followed by a Manhattan Bike tour and a run through NY’s central park.

There are safety measures taken with the kayakers and other crew members, forming a 20 yard frame from the starting point to the finishing line at the Hudson river, which is also one of the most important and famous water ways of America. Then comes the bike race where, the athletes stay on the hilly courses in Manhattan, finishing at the Mosholu Parkway.

At the end comes the run, with the people exiting the Riverside Park at the 72nd street and then running in New York’s famous Central Park. Reebok Sports Club/NY is the official “fitness center” for the Triathlon. Along with the professionals, amateurs and physically challenged can also take part in the Triathlon in the different categories that they have. Awards are given out to the top three finishers in males and females category in the different age groups.

The event is expected to rope in a very competitive crowd in its 10th year, with the registrations already closed (registration had begun at 12.01 A.M on Nov 1st). The registration closed in 11 days in 2007, 8 hrs in 2008, and 22 minutes in 2009. The NYC marathon lottery for 2010 will open tomorrow on 2nd Nov. The NYC Tri also hosts the Central Park Underwear Run. In 2009 a world record was set with the most number of people wearing only their underwear.

Yankees Phillies game 3 score, World Series game 3

PHILADELPHIA, November 1: Yankees Phillies game 3 score, World Series game 3. The day didn’t belong to the Philadelphia Phillies. Luck was also not on their side as they were crushed by the New York Yankees 8-5 in Game 3.

Their home ground too did not come to their rescue neither was the crowd of any help. They were outwitted by a more tactical and aggressive Yankees.

The match held on Halloween night was important for both the teams. With this convincing victory Yanks lead the series 2-1. The result could probably change the momentum of the World Series.

This is not an awesome lead by the Yankees, but the way their players performed the writing is on the wall. They are in total command of the Series. The spectacular win was celebrated by Yankees team and their fans.

Yankees winning pitcher Andy Pettitte reacted: "Our club feels good about ourselves. We feel like we've got a real strong team. We felt good about coming in here…and we feel good about being up 2-1.

"This was a big win for us."

For the very beginning the Yankees impressed their fans by some sparkling performance. Both Alex Rodriguez and Nick Swisher ended their slumps with homers. Their form recovery will be welcomed by team management.

On the other hand the defeated Phillies have to give hundred per cent in the next match. They have to make sure that they win their next encounter.

Lil' Wayne is Behind Bars, but "No Ceilings" is Taking Off

"No Ceilings" official mixtape is the mixtape of rapper Lil' Wayne. "No Ceilings" official mixtape is a hit, and the "No Ceilings" official mixtape has been issued online for your listening pleasure.

So why is it that everyone is so enthusiastic about the "No Ceilings" official mixtape? Rapper Lil' Wayne has always been very popular with his fans. Furthermore, Lil' Wayne recently plead guilty to weapons charges and will be behind bars for the next year. Of course, Lil' Wayne won't be sentenced until February 2010, but he will still face about a year in jail.

Although Lil' Wayne will be behind bars, "No Ceilings" has...well...no ceilings...and it looks like the official mixtape will gain a considerable amount of success for the soon-to-be incarcerated rapper. Hopefully, the mixtape will give Lil' Wayne enough interest to last through his sentence and he will come out of the whole situation more popular than ever.

The "No Ceilings" official mixtape is available today - which is Halloween. The mixtape features a lot of freestyles of some of the most popular songs on the radio today. Although these aren't technically Lil' Wayne's songs, it's very interesting to see how Lil' Wayne puts his spin on these songs.

No one quite describes the "No Ceilings" official mixtape quite like Wall Street Journal blogger Jozen Cummings. He states "From Jay-Z's "Run This Town", to the urban radio smash "Ice Cream Paint Job", even the Black Eyed Peas' "I Gotta Feeling," the MC uses each beat as a canvas to support rhymes filled with intricate metaphors and unrelenting braggadocio."

Here is a link to the "No Ceilings" official mixtape:

Datpiff.com - "No Ceilings" official mixtape

The official mixtape has gained a significant amount of popularity in the last few days. There's no questioning why, as the musical and lyrical genius of a mastermind rapper is perfectly showcased in the mixtape. Although this isn't a full-blown record, it's going to be enough to keep interest in Lil' Wayne while he is serving out his sentence.
Who knows...after Lil' Wayne gets out, he may have another mixtape to share with us. NO matter what, he will retain a lot of his popularity.

Not everyone is as impressed with the "No Ceilings" mixtape. Paste Magazine states "No Ceilings isn't perfect, and at times it's downright cheesy; Weezy ends the album gleefully rapping "Party on the beach! Party on the beach! I got my weed from the west, my pills from the east!" over will.i.am's wish-I-was-deaf anthem "I Gotta Feeling." Similarly, Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" already got a hip-hop makeover by, of all people to outshine Weezy, Kid Cudi. Wayne's "Poke Her Face" just feels redundant."

A bit-sized Britney: Pop singer takes the Twitter approach to promotion

A total of 15 seconds of Britney Spears' "3" were released online today, all in easy-to-digest 5-second clips. It's a tease for a song that is -- for all intents and purposes -- a tease itself.

The whole shebang will debut tomorrow. Yet you'll probably be able to tell if you want to seek it out based on the little morsel above.

A commercial in 140 characters or less, Spears has attempted to turn the release of her new clip into a three-day Twitter-fueled event. Yesterday, the artist dropped three photos from the video online.

She's taking advantage of her status as the pop music queen of Twitter. With 3.6 million followers, Spears is significantly out in front of any other artist on Twitter, according to data from Big Champagne. For those keeping track of figures that largely can't yet be monetized, John Mayer is a distant second, with about 2.5 million followers.

HBO's 24/7 Pacquiao-Cotto, episode two

Sorry we're late. Had to watch the World Series. But this was, without a doubt, one of the best 24/7 episodes in the entire series. Good training scenes, a nice dose of tension and complete honesty from all of the participants.

Best Spoken Line, Manny Pacquiao: "I'm enjoying being a celebrity because it's my responsibility to give them a chance to say hi and shake hands or sign autographs for fans." Would be nice if say, just 50 percent of the athletes in major league baseball, adopted the same approach toward fans. They don't live in our world, but Manny does.

Best Spoken Line, Miguel Cotto: "Love between father and son is the most truly love you ever can find." The English wasn't exact, but the message was clear.

Best Spoken Line, Miguel Cotto Sr.: "The problem is that I had to choose between my brother and my son. And you already know which side I chose."

Best Supporting Role: President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, President of the Philippines. Come on. She's a president. How could we not give it to her. OK. Barack has been on Letterman. Come on 24/7, go out and get him.

Training Days: Sparring scene with Pacquiao and -- we think -- Jose Luis Castillo.

Best Written Line: Peace can at last be found again at elevation, focus rediscovered on the road, desire recalibrated one step at a time.

How cool was the shot of the guy painting Pacquiao-Cotto 24/7 on the side of the school bus? How horrific were the shots of the landslides?

Loved ... Gerry Penalosa Gym. He's a two-division champ and veteran of 63 fights. Actually, he should be thinking retirement. He's the younger brother of Dodie Penalosa, the former light flyweight champ of the mid-1980s.

Loved ... The bridge shot in Tampa, for the second week in a row.

Loved ... The golf scene. Miguel swinging lefty? And wonderful shot of three generations of Cottos on the course.

Didn't love ... Manny singing. Please, please Manny stick to boxng. (He can dance though, see the scene at the Wild Card.)

The pool scenes are priceless. Say what you want, but they are having fun. Here's what's also great. OK, Cotto pulls down his buddy's trunks, we expect that. But then Bryan Perez returns the favor and it's no big deal to Cotto. How many elite athletes would allow that? Could have lived with the butt shot, but it again demonstrates the equality in the friendship. Nice to see.

Maybe Alex Ariza is right and maybe he isn't. But he's coming off as the petty party in this fued with Michael Koncz. It's good TV, but how good is it for the fighter?

Don't understand Cotto's (and Mayweather's) reluctance to have the sparring sessions filmed. At this point, they are who they are. Their styles are not going to change that much come fight night. Strategy? It's not like when the bell rings they'll be doing something that no one has ever seen in the last 100 years. Or that Freddie Roach hasn't seen in the last 30. There are no more surprises like say -- the first time Dick Fosbury did the flop at a high jump competition.

Finally, a Yankees jersey -- and cap -- spotted in camp Cotto. Which reminds me, Yankees in six.

Wish we got to know the Cottos sooner.

Next episode, Saturday, Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. The rematch between Chad Dawson and Glen Johnson follows the episode.
